A native of St. Louis, Jen completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s of Social Work degrees at Washington University in St. Louis with a concentration in Mental Health with a specialization in LGBT Populations. She then spent more than 10 years in California. For eight years, she worked at the Los Angeles LGBT Center working with adults, couples and adolescents in the areas of trauma, complex stress, substance use, depression and anxiety. Jen also worked in the field of college sexual assault and relationship violence at Stanford University  2 years.

Jen moved back to St. Louis in 2017, and worked with students at Washington University for two years before venturing into private practice.

Jen has a strong foundation in resiliency work and uses with the strengths, core beliefs, and abilities of all her clients with the goal of increasing insight, lifelong satisfaction, and holistic healing and growth.  Jen believes we have the capacity to change, heal and surpass our wildest expectations.

Jen lives with her wife and young son in the St. Louis area.

Jen uses a mixture of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy as well as Narrative Therapy techniques to create a safe, warm, and effective therapeutic environment.

She specializes in LGBT and trans/gender expansive treatment and trauma and complex stress. She has worked with families going through divorces as an informal mediation type of counseling, and with families going through fertility and adoption issues.

She tends to have a more gentle approach, so she works well with clients who are new to therapy. She also offers walking counseling sessions for those that think better while walking and to get the endorphins up and running.
