Learn one of the newest stress release tools available in St. Louis! Tension and trauma are part of the human experience. Happily, so is healing. Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE®) are easy to learn. They stretch and fatigue certain muscles to initiate a natural shaking in the body that allows your body to release tension and tightness stored deep in your muscles and fascia and to regulate the nervous system. Reported results include better sleep, a restored sense of calm, deep relaxation, even relief from injuries and pain.
In this 2-hour experiential workshop, you’ll learn some basic information about how our nervous systems react to and store tension and trauma deep in our bodies, and how TRE® was developed to allow that tension and trauma to get discharged in a safe, gentle, and effective manner. Then you’ll go through the exercises yourself to learn how to initiate and self-regulate your body’s own healing mechanism – neurogenic tremors – and how to continue to use TRE® on your own or in individual sessions.
Wear comfortable clothing. Bring water and a yoga mat if you have one (yoga mats will be available).

Facilitator: Alison Morris is a certified TRE® provider and is excited to start offering group and private TRE® sessions at the St. Louis Wellness Center. Alison was drawn to TRE® as a way to allow the body to heal itself, without the need to remember or talk about what happened.
Note: TRE® is not suitable for pregnant women, those who are not cleared for exercise, or those who have recently undergone major surgery. A group TRE® workshop is also not recommended for those who have experienced major trauma. I am able to accommodate various injuries and disabilities.
