Danica Byler MA, LPC

Danica has a passion for helping couples discover their strengths as well as learning how to manage their areas of differences that can often over time lead to emotional disconnection and isolation. She is a Certified Gottman Couples Therapist and has trained personally with Drs. John and Julie Gottman at the Gottman Institute in Seattle. The Gottman Method is one of two empirically validated methods for working with couples, and is grounded in over 40 years of research with couples across their life spans and across cultures. Danica utilizes the Gottman method to help couples discover tools needed to navigate difficult life changes and challenges, and how to manage conflict and stress as a couple. She is also working towards certification in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples. Together, the Gottman Method, and EFT create a powerful symbiotic approach to help couples heal broken bonds of connection, and to strengthen or rebuild friendships.

Danica provides weekend workshops for couples based on the Gottman Model: "The Art and Science of Love," and she is a trainer for other clinicians in the Gottman Method.

In addition to her work with couples, she enjoys working with individuals who are experiencing relationship difficulties, as well as with individuals to help manage anxiety, and/or depression.

Danica's therapeutic approach is warm and unconditional, challenging, and supportive. Her approach is to help create a secure, safe environment in which individuals and couples feel free to express themselves, while at the same time welcoming self-discovery, self-exploration, and introspection, both as this discovery process relates to him or herself as well as how these processes effect the couple relationship.
